This poem was written in 2024. It's a tunnel for those of us who understands the language of a secret place as opposed to the scared place when dealing with complex human emotions and experiences. What's scared is in the secret, and that's where many of us spend our time when the world is asleep.

I weaved this place in my heart where i can be

A place where my shame has a name

A place where my deepest fears have a pillow

A place where my spirit can float in a sea of forgiveness

A place where my self-destructive thoughts

are met with big bear hugs

A place where all my contradictions

are welcomed with audacious grace

A place where nobody can touch,

not even the looters on the run

The me I adore

and the me I can’t stand

take turns leading—

two-step, pause, two-step

I dream giant, I dream tiny,

I dream anyway.

I love you to love your secret place

And if you ever find the hidden door,

come sit.

We can stay.

We can leave.

anyway...anyway.
